yes, it's possible to use both version to gather. but please! don't do
this! it works well for some days, but then files start to create problem.

you may use both version on the same os.
if you want to convert any office 2007 document in office 2003, then
download the microsoft comppatibility pack.

no it is not a good idia to use 2 versions of ms office on 1 comp as
there may be some clashes i know how to convert 2007 documents to 2003
there is a file format converter for office 2003 you can surch on
google or contect me of list
