About your first problem.
1.
Go to settings and open profiles.
2.
As you will get a list of profiles, select general and open it.
3.
Then you shall get 2 options as ac
Just a correction, in n 72, you will find profile option in tools menue and
not in settings.

As for as talks announcing the letters in words are concerned, you need to
deactivate the settings associated with that. I think the shortcut key is
either talks+3 or Talks+2. Try it and see if your problem gets fixed.
