Is the fan actually turned off now?
can you hear the fan spin on when you echo 0 /proc/acpi/fan/FAN/state?

I tried this one (on top of -rc4) and it works. Battery is there and Fn+Fx
works again.

After a new recompilation again with CONFIG_HWMON=n the bug doesn't occur
anymore since 10 days.
What was the difference between both kernels then?

2.6.22.6 kernel has the same behaviour. Also, the battery module loads, but
reports no battery, and no battery info shows up in /proc.
