Randomly suspend worked again on the affected laptop when connected
via a usb wifi stick instead of the built-in broadcom card.

It occurred to me that writing to actual_brightness might work, but I got a
Permission denied error, and, checking the properties, found

I tried to reproduce this bug on a T61 but failed.
And I did find that the led beside the bay is still on if I didn't undock the
bay before suspend.
