Error is caused because NVOP cannot be resolved, and it is actually a control
method. Disassembler has no way of knowing this, so it gets confused:

So it looks like 2.4.27 doesn't even try to enable ACPI mode, and 2.6.8 hangs
the same way as 3.1.0-rc3.
Can you try 2.6.28? If that doesn't boot, try the Ubuntu 9.04 kernel, which
