I am just wondering why it works flawlessly on Windows. Does Windows do some
special magic here? Or is the Linux implementation incomplete or broken?

I have no idea about this bug. We tried several methods but the box still can't
be powered off.
Thanks

Regarding power-off not working with the BenQ S73x, I have given up hope that
this will ever work with Linux.

I confirm too that command s2disk save correctly the state of the box but
doesn't poweroff, however when I start the system from s2disk, poweroff and
suspend works fine,,,

I can confirm that command s2disk can disable my laptop.
First usage put laptop in state which causes that every next usage of s2disk
results in power off.

Does anyone try the boot option of acpi_sleep=old_ordering and see whether
the box can be shutdown by using hibernate?
echo disk
