No they were still able to access their mailboxes after I moved them but
then when I shut down the temp mail server 3 weeks later the all of a sudden
could not access their mailboxes, it was like their were using the temp
server as a pass thru .

One thing Ive done to keep from having to keep the old mapi server up was to put an A
record in DNS with the old server name and the new Exchange server's IP address. Only
had a few desktops that needed hands on treatment after doing that.

Windows 98 clients do not have computer accounts in the domain. If you are
unable to join the domain then you may have a name resolution problem. Make
sure that your win 98 clients are pointing to a valid WINS server. They
need to be able to query wins to locate the domain controllers for your

Yes, this is a NT domain that was just upgraded to windows 2000, all the
win2k machines login fine, however we have three 98 machines left that
just can't seem to work...i haven't tried the WINS entries so I'll give
those a go.
