Usually this happens when your demotion takes place within
a remote site and the computer account is still registers in your pdce?
When this happens joining the computer to the domain
usually gives lots of errors - one of it is during joining "User already

it's just a matter of fact that a non-GC DC can't show you the of users from one
domain in universal groups of another domain. You'll have to connect to a GC to
view these in 2000.
