good morning all,
i've got 2 Wins server (called WINS1 and WINS2) on a Windows 2000 AD
domain called "AME.LOCAL". These are configured as pull-push partners of
each other and will replicate correctly.
Now, I need to add 2 more Wins servers and configure them as P-P partners
with the above. Howe

Hello all
While testing Application of new SP2 group policy features to some XP SP2

I set "windows firewall: protect all network connections" to -Disabled- to
both domain and standard profile. On the test machine, however, the windows

Removal semeed ok. Today i got the following event in my log. I believe it's

Hello all,
Anybody working on 2000 server-based networks would care to share
experiences post 04-011 patch installation?
As of now the installation at other customer's sites showed no issues.
However i should be about to deploy it at a quite critical site.
- Has anybody experienced the issues des
updated? Firewall? Proxy?

This might be OT, if so i apologize.
On my AD network, i have some clients needing a lot of time to resume from a
computer lock. A user types his/her credentials to unlock and must wait
40-60 seconds before the desktop would be displayed. Using alternate
credentials than the logged on user makes no

Good morning,
i've recently runned into a weird problem i wasn't able to track down yet.
Yesterday morning a number of users reported that their domain PCs would
hang loading the Operating system just before the logon screen would appear.
they're all stuck on Applying computer settings.
The moment
I've just found a previous post about it...sorry for that.

hello all,
I am concerned about how big should be configured event log, particulary
security event log for domain controllers. Of course it's stricly dependant
on what/where/how much should be logged, nevertheless i was wondering if
issues may occur if security event size is set to too high.

Rather than implementing the key deletion in an ADM, you might want to use a
Group policy to trigger a startup script that would delete the key. Here you
can find a sample:

Unfortunately the reorganization wasn't performed well. We have cases of

Are you sure that the issue is not to be related to replication?

good morning list,
I am getting a weird problem lately. Our AD architecture is made of 1
forest, 1 domain, 4 sites spanned through WAN links. There are approx. 2500
nodes in the forest, there are 2 DCs at each site, a DC is configured as GC
at each site.
