Has anybody had issues with using the File Replication
Service associated with DFS? We have tried to replicate certain DFS directories
and our users ran into issues when two people would try to open / update files
in these directories at the same time. Any advice?
Thanks in advance,

We use robocopy if that’s any
indicator. I won’t consider going to FRS again without R2 code.

It lasts for around 90 days. We ran into the problem where we started up the
server then wondered why we had this problem. Have you checked to ensure
that Terminal services were not installed?

Terminal services for server 2003 should not be installed unless you are
using it for a terminal services server. If you are strictly using Terminal
Services for server management, un-install terminal services and use remote

Question: Is this just the Server 2003(s) that have quit responding or is it

We had this issue occur with systems also.
Turned up to be an issue with the firewall configuration on the PCs. This

Yes. You can easily break into each computer, reset the local admin
password to blank, change the domain, and set the local admin password
to what is needed. No need to rebuild the machines. If you use the CD
version of the break in utility, very quick as long as PCs have CDs.
