Not sure of which version of Exmerge you are using, but the one included in SP1 has a problem with comma's.  There is a hotfix you can get from PSS that may be of assistance.  The standalone version does not have the issue so I expect it's a GUI issue.   http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=883419
