I figured it out, I was using the Office 2000 RES Kit to create a MST File
for Office XP

I have created an administrative installation of Office XP Pro, which has
gone smoothly. I then try to run the Custom Installation Wizard and at the
last step, when it tries to write the information to the MST, I get the
following error.

"Buffer passed to GetRecordField/GetNextLine is too short. The MSI File is
corrupt."

This is the second time I have redone the admin install and MST creation,
what am I doing wrong?

Just so you know I am generating the admin install from my laptop, which is
not part of the domain, to the UNC path of the server which is in the
domain. Does the computer I use to generate the Admin install have to be in
the same domain?
