Pass package name as variable

hi all, is it possible to pass the package_name as variable and how in the following example: ${package_name::GLOBAL} = $abc; And, in the same manner, is it possible and how to use variable instead of package name in the: use package; Regards, VS.

Is syswrite a blocking call?

I need to know if syswrite is a blocking call.  I am using it to write to a UNIX Socket.  Somewhere in my application, my code is getting blocked.  I have narrowed it down to the data write code.   So I am wondering if syswrite blocks.   I am really in need of an answer.  Any help is appreciate
