Well, I m truly surprised. I've regularly handled Steatodas and never been
bitten. I've also not heard of such an extreme reaction in a healthy person.
Are you sure you didn't have something more exotic in the house!!?

I am aware of the False Widow, they are routinely found in my home, in odd
corners, of a kitchen or bathroom for example, we leave them in peace with
