Hi,
I have a question about empty tapes needed when TSM does reclamation or
migration. We have some empty tapes inside the library and some are outside.
How do I force TSM to use the inside one? I found it requested to mount
outside empty tapes even there were still some inside the library.

You are running really old code versions (both of AIX and TSM). I would
upgrade to AIX 4.3.3 and TSM 4.1 before you ever try installing this new
device.

I would be very surprised if ADSM V 3.1 supports the drives in question.
That is a very old release. Also, if the library is new, it is unlikely
that support for it will be there as well.

Hi,
We want to buy DLT M1500 tape library (with DLT8000 tape drives)
to be used for ADSM Version 3.1 server on AIX 4.1
but I would like to confirm that ADSM 3.1 supports DLT M1500

Could someone help me confirm that?

I would think moving the db to a new volume would just move the db

hi,
When you run RMAN backup/restore RMAN looks for a library named libobk.so
which got installed when you install TDPO. TDPO uses TSM API to connect
to TSM server to send/receive data.

Hello Thiha.
Thanks for your help.
I'm still stuck with this issue. I have followed your instructions but it
doesn't work. Whenever I start a script to backup the archivelog files, it

These are my configuration files:

DSMI_ORC_CONFIG /us
If you leave off the STANDARD it will take your default policy. (your syntax
is correct)
You can use the "BackupRegistry Yes" with earlier version of Tivoli however
Active Directory would not be included.

Maurice,
Delete the "spacetrigger made volumes" and the data on these database volumes
will be moved to other database volumes. You may have to create some more
database volumes of your own first but since you are only using 43.2 % of your
database now there should be enough space.

I am aware when using the API, ADSM keeps only one filespace name.
Full database backups are done on a daily basis of the DB2/UDB database.
