Bruce,
The tsm or automatically provides a 24 hour time range in the sql it generates
and sends to the server. So you will automatically get a report for the 24 hours
prior to the start time.
To experiment, define your report and right click on it, select 'refresh with the
scheduled time'.

Hi Bruce,
Actually, you can export/import tapes between TSM servers.
You can use EXPORT NODE on your server and IMPORT NODE on the other.
The cons. are it is not possible to export single file (SQL database). If
this is active version of the SQL DB, you can limit the export with

I have some application commands that must be run before backing up a
client (w2k server) and it's DB. I run this out off a .bat script that
I execute through the tsm backup schedule. The normal commands to
shutdown the db, the dsmc backup command and the db startup work just
fine in the script.
You can import a TSM Tape if that Tape is an EXPORT Tape. So you would
have to EXPORT the nodes backup and/or archive data.

This is true...but there is something else to consider.
If you are using IBM LTO Gen 1 drives, there was a bad level of microcode that
could write a EOT mark at the BOT. A symptom of this is the inability to
read the

The following error appears when TSM loads a specified tape:"Error:
ANR8353E:I/O error reading label of volume in drive".
Recommended action is to run DSMLABEL on tape but tape has valid backups on
it.
Do you know of a way to label the volume again without losing the data?
Thanks.
What I did was add a second section to my backup status report. For the
report section I selected Activity Log Details. In the search I set it to
Search string ANE4993E.
Hope this helps.

Maybe it's because TDP Exchange doesn't give the information to TSM.
