Hi list,
I've got a client who is working with TSM the following way:
They work with an autoloader.
They wanted to have a 2 week tape cycle with even and uneven weeks and a
2 week period for keeping the tapes.
What I did was create 2 sets of tapes(4 tapes eacht) and 2
diskpools(even and uneven)

Goo afternoon Ladies and Gentlemen,
Am using TDP for domino to backup .nsf and .ntf databases. Is it
possible that more than 1 version of a database can exist. For example
when I go through the TDP gui, click on the restore tab and highlight the
database I would like to restore, is thecopy
Moses,
If you are using the TSM GUI, select View then toggle select Display
active/inactive (if in command mode, add -inact) to see the previous
generations of your backup files. Select Display active files only to
set option as before. I have TSM client version 5.1.6 and it should be the

Hi all,
A question about reorganisation of copy_pool.
We have only one copy_pool for all our clients (about 200
unix/w2k/vms/novell-clients). The data of the copy_pool are on our second
TSM-server, the connection runs via server-to-server virtual volumes.
Now we want to split the copy_pool. There
I would use the Move node command to move the data from the original
Copypool to the new copy pool. that way you will not lose any of the
existing data for the nodes you want on the new copy pool.
As far as I know, there is no way to delete just the copy pool version
of data. At least not an easy
I have been asked for advice on the best 5.1 client for Win2k.
I tend to believe that the most recent version although it fixes some
previous faults, potentially has some nasty undiscovered faults of its own,
What would the list recommend.

FWIW,
We have done bare metal restore testing successfully for Win2K pro and Win2K

Has anybody successfully installed this patch yet (yup, I realize that
it just came out last night)? I was upgrading from v5.2.2.3 to v5.2.2.4,
when it gave me the license hasn't been accepted yet message. It

To shed more light on this situation, it looks like it depends on
whether or not you do a pkgadd with the '-R' option (which we do).
The license check is only looking for the license file (status.dat)
in the BASEDIR (default is /opt) directory. Can't change either

Hi,
I have a 3494 and a 3584 tape library. When I do MOVE DRM
the 3584 tries to check the label on the tape before ejecting it. My 3494
does not do this. Does anybody know how to prevent the 3584 LTO library
from checking the label when a MOVE DRM occurs?? I do not always have
Enter the command: Q DRMSTATUS
If CHECKLABEL is set to YES, TSM will try to verify the label before
ejecting the tape.
To change, enter command:
set drmchecklabel no

I just installed TSM 5.2.2.0 on AIX. I ran the command in the Quick Start
guide to set up the web admin interface.
My AIX admin has the server locked down really tight. She has opened up
port 1580 at my request, but I still can't load the web admin page.
Any ideas?

Gretchen,
Hello!
I just tried installing using the -R option and it worked fine.
I install tsm to the default directory and run the library manager from it.
Then I install to other directories and run server in those; I currently have 4
alternate installations.
The command I used is -

Is it possible to copy specific node data to a third storage pool?
I know I can copy the complete tapepool or copypool over to the third
storage pool. And I also know that I can make a new backup of the data and
direct it to the new storage pool through a new management class. Are these

Short of using an export node, you can't *copy* node data anywhere. You
can move node data from one primary storage pool to another primary

Hi Bill,
Where is your status.dat file? I suspect that since you used the
default install first, it is in /opt/tivoli/tsm/server/license - since
that
is where the preinstall file looks for it. I use pretty much the
same command, although without the -a option. What do you
have in your admin file?
Gretchen,
Here is the adminfile, which is not the original but an altered copy -

Klaas,
The errors you are getting indicate that the storage pool (or subordinate

* You dont have enough volumes defined - ie: the volumes defined are
already full,
* You dont have enough scratch volumes define: ie: check the MAXSCR
Hi, I'm just to embark on a project to upgrade our TSM server from v4.2.2.5 to v5.2 on
a windows platform. Part of this upgrade is to also migrate the TSM server
installation to a new Dell server as the current server is only a NT4 and we need to
upgrade it to Windows 2000.

Hello Jianyu,
In general, in order for the scheduler to work, you must do the following:
- Define a schedule on the TSM server.
- Associate the client nodes with that schedule (using the DEFINE
ASSOCIATION command). For example:
DEF ASSOC STANDARD DAILY_INCR MYNODENAME
- Install and
