It's good to hear perspective on these drives after they have been out in the

Same story here with AIT-3 drives. I see lots of read errors that usually

these are repeatable on any drive and I chalk that up to defective media.

I should move the TSM server (on Windows 2000) to new hardware. Where can I

How can I export/import the configuration, etc.

I had the same (or similar) problem using IBMtape 1.4.11, TSM would hit EOV

Great,
that would suggest that, TSM EE will be setup first to access NAS volumes,
and then device class bla bla .. and then that next storage pool.
We do not even require "Tivoli Storage Manager for NDMP" as NAS in question
would be NetApps and TSM EE is already equipped to talk to NAS using NDMP.

Zoltan,
My webadmin q actlog works fine, but I never upgraded it. I'm still at webadmin
5.2.2-2 and webhelp 5.2.2-2 (see your "rpm -qa | grep TIV). This is because I had the
same problem with earlier versions (webadmin q actlog wouldn't work and it irritated

Ahathe webadmin is still at 5.2.2.0.
I guess I am used to AIX taking care of the various related pieces-parts.
I would never have thought to look in the "noarch" directory (I thought
"no archive" not "non architechtural...").
Thank you for enlightening me.

strange that is, are you sure that you upgraded the webadmin as well?

Update disk storage pool with NEXTstgpool=NASstgpool, highmig=xx
lowmig=xx, so that when reached higmig %, TSM will migrate data to
NASstgpool until lowmig%.

Dear All,
Can you please elaborate on keeping storage pool on NAS (NetApps)?
My client wants to take backup disk of TSM server and then to migrate it
onto NAS storage pool instead of tapes.
Very Briefly, how can this be accomplished??

Bill,
I am surprised that someone would have their backups that are
going to a z900 which is a fairly current machine using a CIP card which
is ancient. Remembering that the CIP card came into popularity because
the mainframe USED to have a very bad TCPIP stack ( early to mid
1990's). The
