Same story here with AIT-3 drives. I see lots of read errors that usually go away on a retry. See a good number of write errors as well. Some of these are repeatable on any drive and I chalk that up to defective media. We clean the drives twice a week which is twice as often as recommended by

I had the same (or similar) problem using IBMtape 1.4.11, TSM would hit EOV then fail with an 'already reached EOV once' error, flag the tape R/O and move on to the next tape ad nauseum... upgrading to IBMtape 1.4.14 solved that problem (had to bump the Linux kernel up a notch to run a version the

Great, that would suggest that, TSM EE will be setup first to access NAS volumes, and then device class bla bla .. and then that next storage pool. We do not even require "Tivoli Storage Manager for NDMP" as NAS in question would be NetApps and TSM EE is already equipped to talk to NAS using NDMP.

Ahathe webadmin is still at 5.2.2.0. I guess I am used to AIX taking care of the various related pieces-parts. I would never have thought to look in the "noarch" directory (I thought "no archive" not "non architechtural..."). Thank you for enlightening me.

Bill, I am surprised that someone would have their backups that are going to a z900 which is a fairly current machine using a CIP card which is ancient. Remembering that the CIP card came into popularity because the mainframe USED to have a very bad TCPIP stack ( early to mid 1990's). The
