Marc,
I noticed you had 1581 in your note. Did you try opening 1501? Wasn't
sure if 1581 was a typo or not. Also, make sure the ports are
bi-directional.

We just got our new 3583 with 6 tape drives and I believe Multi-Path (we

The DRM part of TSM creates nice scripts to make DR testing easy.
If you do not have DRM, you can place:

into the dsmserv.opt file.
This option will disable all schedule execution for you without having to
"catch" them after starting the server.

Just keep in mind that TSM does not use the TEC

typical TEC adapter.
In particular, it can only send non-TME events,
and can only send them to one destination (no

Is 'disable sess' what your looking for?

TSM running on AIX does not have a facility to assign K tapes to one

Hi
There can be several reasons why there is a difference in the number of
scratch tapes between your onsite and offsite 3494:s:
1. Reuse Delay. Is reuse delay activated on the off-site pool(s)?
2. Is there equal number of volumes in the on-site and off-site 3494:s

Here's another query to try:

Bill, we backups all TSM servers, all local file systems incrementally,

Don't backup the tsm data base, log, or storagepools with the tsm
backup client. The data base should be backed up with a BACKUP DB
command which also clears the log. The storagepools should be backed up
with a BACKUP STG and UPDATE STG .. HI= LOW= comma
