That depends on how those 10 vol
Hi,
I have a great problem to restore my TSM Database. Server runs on AIX
5.2_ML02 and TSM Server Version 5.1.8
I stop the server, so I have a consitent status.
After the server stop I lost the disks where are my db-logs (hardware). Now
I change the disks and recreate the db-log files with dsmfmt
I don't understand why the server shows by the restore to the logs. But now
I format the log-vol new and restart the "dsmserv restore db" and get now
this error:
# dsmserv restore db preview=yes
ANR7800I DSMSERV generated at 16:53:28 on Oct 16 2003.

It sounds like you did not initialize the database and logs. Check the
command dsmserv format" .
The errors you cite appear to come from the existence of an old
dsmserv.dsk file which points to your old log and database volumes.

Now I try to restore to a point in time.
Now I get this errors (additional my configuration):

Your best bet is to fix the DEFINE PATH statement. A search on the ADSM
list at ADSM.ORG will show you a history of 3494 library problems like
this.
Good Luck!

thanks!
I check the path (for example /mgnt/save_data/adsm_db/full_bak) and find
that was on the crashed disk. Now I creadte the direcktoties (in this
example fuu_bak) and start the restore again. Now it runs in the moment.
I hope that ist now o.k.
When the restore runs now successfull, must I ad
Once the database is restored you should be done. If there anything else
on the disks that were lost, you will need to fix that also.

I just recently added an expansion frame to my 3584 library and i didn't
have to define anything on TSM or on the AIX box it's running on to
recognize that we added expansion frames.
I'm assuming it's the same thing for additional slot bays. In which case
does TSM care how many slots I have at al
I'm going to do an upgrade on my AIX and TSM system on Tuesday. I'll give
you a detailed experience as I go through it just for those of you who are
curious.
I'm also practice making running procedures for all my activities with
detailed steps which I will share with anyone who will be interested.
