We've been running TSM on Intel/Red Hat for over 2 years. For reference, we're using TSM server 5.2.4.2 on RHEL 3.0 Update 1 on an IBM x335. FC attached 3583 and disk pools (separate hba's, of course!) - Database is about 20G - Backup types include DP for Oracle and Exchange, a few Windows machine

Hi, I would suspect "out of mem" conditions on this type of back-ups. However, very strange that no logs exists. Probably helps to look closely at the sched.log. In their you should be able to see when en where the scheduled back-up stops, and maybe even why. Of course, quiet etc should be in the

Hi Thomas, How multisession restore decides to use multiple sessions is somewhat dependent on timing and other unpredictable run-time factors. There is no guarantee two files will be restored with separate sessions (in parallel) just because they happen to reside on two separate tapes. Regards,

Thomas, My guess is that you are not doing a "No Query Restore" (NQR). The only way TSM will do a multisession restore is if you are doing a NQR. And the trick with this is that it mus be an unrestricted wild card specification on the restore command. If you look in the client reference guide
