I thought about archives too but this would be causing bandwith problems (less
then 1 Mbps) with remote WAN sites. The first incremental 'full' backup will
take a rather long time, but the bandwith could be increased then as this
happens only once. And the TDP backups must be included too.

I've got a TSM setup of:
TSM 5.3.1.x server on Windows2003
backup to disk only (primary storage pool on a SAN and a copy storage pool to a
remote SAN)
The clients are a mixture of Windows NT/2000/2003, Solaris and Linux servers
with Notes, MS SQL and Informix as applications
Now I'm confused. We bought 5.1.0 from a reseller, and we do have passport
advantage. But I can't find 5.3.0 anywhere on the ftp site at all. Are you
saying it's on there somewhere? Or are you saying that 5.3.0 is going to
cost us extra money?

I am running TSM 5.2.3 with maintenance applied till 5.2.6 on Windows 2003

Operational reporting is working fine except that it can't find my SMTP server.
I can't find any logs where i can track down the problem.

The drives are managed through the Atape driver, so the are not touched by
the atldd driver. It just manages the communication from the AIX host to the
library (mount/demount requests etc.).

Since TSM 5.3 requires a new license, you cannot download the base code from
the FTP server. If your company is are a Passport Advantage member, you can
download the base code from there.
