Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but there is one way to check whether
your firmware is up-to-date or not. If you have not assigned your
library IP address/DNS entry, do so. You can then access your 3584 via a
web URL line. In our case, I type 3584_1 (DNS name) on the URL line, hit
enter, and like
Thanks for the replies, but no luck yet.
The data being migrated all belonged to a single node, and only two
tape mounts were involved.
The drive firmware is up to date. I'll be damned if I can figure out
how to determine what the 3584 library firmware level is or how to
download it. The device

Our environment will soon include backing up VMware. Is anyone currently
backing up such an environment? And if so, are there any best practices or
how to guides with using a TSM client? Any help is appreciated!

Hi Everyone . . . expecially SAN experts . . . .
I have a 3494 library with 3590H drives that connect to a AIX system via
SAN.
The SAN switch is a Brocade. Below is the switchshow cmd for this switch.
The F-Ports are the AIX adapters while the L-Ports are the 3590 drives.

Another factor to consider: does the tape pool in question have
collocation turned on? If so, then depending on the number of tapes in
the pool, the type of collocation in effect and the number of client nodes
or filespaces to be migrated, there could be a very large number of tape
mounts occurrin
It also wouldn't hurt to verify that your library and drive code
(firmware) are up-to-date.

When ISC supports 64-bit.
ISC release 6.0.1, targeted for availability later this month, includes
64-bit support. See the 5.3.2 Admin Center README file for additional
info.

I believe the first thing to check is the zoning of the fiber channel
network. TSM server and disk in one zone and in a different zone put tsm
server and tape. We had a similar problem.

Hi,
We're recently connected a 3584 with one L52 frame containing 2 LTO-2
fiber attached drives to our AIX server. We'll be using FAStT SATA

anyone with a similar setup provide any statistics on how this works

Hello,
I got something like this today, only I had no way to correct the command.
When I tried to cancel a process via ISC, it returned an error stating that I
could not do "CANCEL PROCESS 4,189"
Had to go to the old friend CLI instead.

Dear All,
We currently have an issue, the archive log history on TSM has been deleted,
however we know the files exists on the tapes somewhere. Is there any
mechanism we can you use to recover this information.
So TSM is able to identify what tapes are required for a restore?
