I know how to define a schedule against a node - how do I define another
node client in the same TSM client?

It forces a write of used log buffer pool pages to the database. I don't
know if it even still does what it says it is doing in newer versions of
TSM. I'm trying to remember, but I think it was used to free up recovery log
space. With bigger disks being used for recovery logs, it probably isn't
Are you perhaps referring to a trace flush from the trace facility?
There is no mention of trace flush in the latest Problem Determination
Guide, but if you look at the Trace Facility Guide for 4.1 (

Wanda,
I have 5550 and it works fine for me. Just to be sure I reset the
address and then reentered it. I then sent a test trap and got it on my
management console right away.
Perhaps Rick is right; you might have a partial load of the FW.

Wanda,
The current library code is 5770. I would install this code level and
then call IBM if the problem is still present. I have seen strange
things like this when a firmware load doesn't complete. Even though
you said this is a new unit, the factory firmware load might have
been incomplete.

1. Yes, as is embedded in firmware. There may be some kind of
sublevel for Specialist but not aware of. I have firmware 5050
and don't see any "version" info on my Web page
2. Probably put in a hardware service call to IBM.
I know with early 3584's (3 -4 years ago), there was some firmware

Well, this is peculiar.
This is a new 3584, firmware level is 5550. (Thanks to the folks who
helped me figure that out yesterday!)
When I use the Tape Library Specialist (web interface) to set the SNMP
destination address, the Tape Library Specialist crashes.
That is, the web interface goes to "

It's also just the 5.2 GUI. Doesn't have any of the features new in
5.3.
(But, it's sure nice to have when I want to find something in a hurry!)

But the retro-fitted web gui is only suppose to be available as a
transition tool. Get used to the Admin Center.

Hello all,
I am testing restoring backup sets. From what I have read a
backup set cannot be restored from the TSM server to the
NetWare server using the GUI correct? I would like to restore
the following backup set from the TSM Server to a Netware server's
specific restore directory/folder.

The first thing I noticed is that your tsm client version is downlevel
compared to the server. Also, your tsa versions are pretty old.
Judging by what you do have, I'm guessing you're running an early
service pack level of Netware 6? If that is all accurate, I would
update netware to sp5 (with po
At this point I would advocate testing it yourself to be sure. I never
did a "q tsa nds" (I did do a "q tsa" however), and my eDir backups have
been working fine. Patrick seems to have had a different experience
though, so it could be determined by some unknown detail like tsm client
version, tsa
Just to add,
If "nds' is not being backed up is there a need to do a "q tsa nds"?

Andrew,
This looks like it could be a consequence of the undocumented change made
to the file devclass at v5.3 such that the minimum write to a file
devclass file is now 256K.
Check apar IC48331. However, this apar is only to update the
documentation to match the observed behaviour.

Hi,
first of all, I really like the new TSM Administration Center. It's much
more concise than the old webadmin interface, IMHO, of course ;-)
I'm using the latest version 5.3.2.0 and ISC 6.0.1 (TSM 5.3.2.3).
Two problems occur that I don't find in the APAR list:
