Well, I think I found my answer. We don't have the latest and greatest
in-house yet, and I didn't see it available for download either. Here is
a recent quote from Del Hoobler... "Data Protection for SQL - Windows
x64 Package is now available. For those of you that have asked about the

Sounds to me like you got the IA64 instead of the x64 version.
Also, if you have any sql2000 instances loaded, you will need to run a
ms patch for vss - talk to your ms support people.

A starting point for TSM data storage needs when moving from traditional backup
methods can be calculated with these steps:
1. One full copy on tape
2. The amount of data backed up by one incremental backup multiplied by the
greater of versions or the retention period.
3. multiply by 2 if you are

Typically I run this as a schedule from the server pointing to a .cmd file,
but I've never had to do this on a cluster resource. Since the dsm.opt file

TSM 5.3.3.0 on AIX 5.3 ML-4
One of the new features of TSM 5.3 is the ability to have more than one
reclamation process for a storage pool.
To whoever designed and implemented that, I say "Thank you."
Our copypool is hosted on a 5-year old HP DLT library with four DLT8000

We may be bringing a TSM Library Manager into our TSM server farm environment,
so the Library Manager would be able to
service all tape requests from the TSM servers that our requested in the
environment even the if the OS are of different

We're just starting to test TDP for oracle on our linux Oracle 9i/10g

the backup seems to be able to run and finish in an amazingly short time,

Strange, the server seems to treat the s different than
other characters. Please note the different error
messages these two commands generate:

Maybe there is a (intermittent) network problem
between the machine the browser runs on and the
