You should point to the optionsfile itself, not the directory containing
it. This means: "tdpoconf password -tdpo_optfile=/home/oracle/ts/tdpo.opt".

You can check the filespaces for that client on the server, and see

the problem you have with them not deleteing automaticly may be in the

Backup Delete Allowed?: Yes is set. do a q node x f=d and verify.
If it is not set, even if they product issues a delete it will not
occur.

Don't worry about that. They
For that part the manual was clear. Better to just create a separte
domain (policy/management class) and set the default mangement class to
veredelte=o reteonly=0
Yes, the manual suggest a separate node name and when you define that
node name you would set it to the separate domain.

Hi,
500 000 files to archive/hsm per run limitation by documentation

No limitation on stored HSM data on the ITSM server other than normal

So, what is not working properly?

Hi all
I install HSM on my Windows 2000 server ... It doesn't work properly ...
I heard that there is a limitation of a 500 000 files on a disk so
that's why I cannot browse a drive with HSM ..
Any idea for a workaround ???

Interesting, what does that mean, exactly?
I have the databases, create a mirror copy, and then do a delete dbv?
Thanks for your help.

Do you actually have a "tdpo.opt" file in /home/oracle/ts?
You have to create that file first and config it. The error
is on that file, I believe. Can't set password till config is done.

Hi, We are trying to set up the TDP
I installed TSM Client 5.3.4 in AIX 5.1 (after desinstall TSM 5.1.x).
It happens that when I try to execute DSMCAD: "DSMCAD: not found"
Indeed in /usr/tivoli/tsm/client/ba/bin, dsmcad doesn't exist.
Somebody can help me
Thank you
The best thing to do is to mirror the database volumes in the new
location and then delete the originals

Is anyone running a production TSM server on a virtual machine? If

We are analyzing that possibility, and will do extensive testing
beforehand, but we would like to know what experience others have had

Ever look at Data Domain.
It is disk stgpool that you define to look like tape. A good way of

Hi Nicholas,
you can use 'SETOPT COMMTIMEOUT ' to change this value dynamically
without restarting the TSM server.
Also after you have used 'SETOPT COMMTIMEOUT ' ther should be a new
entry with the new COMMTIMEOUT value at the end of your dsmserv.opt
file.

Rainer
