Client fails with "Server media mount" when no drives are available

2008-06-18 Thread Schneider, John
Greetings, I am trying to understand the behavior I am seeing in a Lanfree client. This is a TSM 5.3.5.0 Lanfree client, with a TSM 5.3.4.0 AIX client, connecting to a TSM 5.4.2.0 AIX server. The TSM server in turn, is a library client, and gets it's tape mounts from another TSM 5.4.2.0 serve

Re: Can TSM locks file during backup ?

The capitalization of "SQL Server" would imply Microsoft SQL Server, which in turn implies Windows OS? I do wonder, as Microsoft continues to tighten up access control, and adds "features" to its file system semantics, that at some point the TSM client may "lock" a file by requesting some form of

We did an upgrade from 5.2.x.x to 5.4.2.0 on AIX. IBM recommended we take the scenic route through 5.3.0 then 5.4.0 and finally the latest patch. I would suggest you call the friendly TSM support team and confirm that is what you should do. The read.me files are hard to piece together... Andy H
