The share needs to be accessible by the user that is running the TSM
service. If it is running under the system account, you have to do some
fancy windows administrator stuff to get it to work. Also, if the file

Looks like the account running the TSM Server service can't see the network
share. You either need to run the TSM Server under a different user
(it's probably SYSTEM), or change the security settings for SYSTEM to see
the network shares.

In the Windows application log, is there any evidence of the acceptor
daemon crashing, and possibly orphaning the files? What version of TSM
is the client?

Hi Ian,
(what happened on Sunday??)
Nothing of the sort - no traces, full privileges - I should have stated that it
is a W2K3 client.
If you watch a windows log directory after starting the dsmcad, you will see
these files get created and deleted very quickly..
Cheers,

Is there a schedlogmax defined, or any trace flag that may be configured
on the client?
What ID is the client running under, does it have the privileges to
remove temp files it may be able to create?

As I frequently advise, do 'dsmc q inclexcl' rather than inspecting

I've been chasing this for a while, and it seems to be very hard to resolve. I
