Hello ADSM-L, We're planning to do some "Library Managed Encryption" testing with a TS3310/3576. We would like to run the backup server and EKM on a (non-IBM) Windows 2003 SP2 (32bit) system. I'm trying to follow the steps set out in HowToObtain.doc to find "IBM(r) TS Productivity Center - Basic

Well, you could restart the scheduler service on the client. This usually results in the client checking in and finding the new schedule. IF I'm in a particular hurry this is what I do. I'm assuming you have defined an "immediate Action" schedule. Sometimes these things take 10 - 20 minutes to s

Gary - Such a scheduling is at the mercy of the Schedmode being used by the client, where that one is probably Polling. Said another way, it is not the case that the server has not contacted the client yet, but that the client had not yet checked back with the server. Richard Sims

That depends on the version of TSM you are running. However, once reclamation, or migration is running you can't start another process. You have to tell it how many processes you want up front. If you are running TSM 5.4 or up you can: Migrate stg lo=0 Or for reclamation: Reclaim stg th=<%recl

Thanks again Howard! One more question hopefully :) If we have 1 reclamation process active is there a way to start up more WHILE it is currently active. I know about >>> upd stg LTOPOOL migprocess=xx I tried, that updates the reclaim processes but it doesn't add on more Reclamation processes

I would do the audit first. Otherwise you may checkout a volume TSM still thinks is checked in. The Audit is the simplest and quickest way to verify inventory (if you use the "checklabel=barcode" option) See Ya' Howard > -Original Message- > From: ADSM: Dist Stor Manager [mailto:[EMAIL

The most definitive list of TSM's supported languages is in Appendix A of the Installation Guide manual. You can check what character sets your Unix OS knows about via the 'locale -a' command. Just 'locale' will show you which LANG setting is in force for your current process/session. Richar
