Now it's working fine. Previously I configured Library and drives twice in
Library Manager. One with source as 1st instance and second as 2nd instance.
But now I configured only drives twice not library.
Is this configuration correct let me know.

Set resourceutilization in the client's configuration to twice the
number of streams you want to run. If anything is likely to go directly
to a sequential stgpool, set your maxnummp for the node definition to at
least the number of streams you want to run (make sure you aren't going

Try just disconnecting and reconnecting the Ethernet cable
to the 3584. I had a problem like that years ago.

Good Morning Joe,
We have been running into the same issue. We did not know about turning off and

Journaling seems to be a good choice for Windows, should be good one for AIX.
Our windows server with about 2 million objects, only about 700K get inspected.
The backup went from 10-12 hours to 2-5 hours.

We can't tell from this info whether it's one filesystem with 18M files, or
many filesystems that make up the 18M. Which is it?

Good Morning Joe,
We have been running into the same issue. We did not know about turning off and
on the IP Port.
We have been resetting the library to fix the problem. Luckily it does not
happen all the time.
IBM did tell us that they thought that things would improve if we upgraded to

If multiple file systems you could make sure there's a stream for each,
you could break it in small chunk with more stream using the Virtual
Mount point option then increase the Resource Util and Maxnummp for the

You can do two things :
1) Create multiple backup schedules by splitting up the data if this is a
Windows various shared drives and have them run in parallel or group
filesystems in different schedules in AIX or Linux.
2) Use journal based backups

Hello everyone,
I have a situation with an AIX TSM client which is at the 5.5.0.6 release
on a TSM server which is on AIX and is at 5.5.1.1. The client has 18
million files to inspect when doing a daily incremental backup that begins
at 9PM and as you can see below took almost 11 hours. As you c

No, to both questions as far as I know. It's been a while, but in the

me you have to restart it there.

Hello Steve.
We also have a 3584 and are having the same issue. We had to call IBM hardware
out to fix ours the last time this occurred. From what I understand there is no
way to remotely address this issue and that the IP port needs to be turned off
and then turned on again. I wish I could give yo
