Richard,
The following command will reclaim tapes when they are 70% empty/30% full and
run for 5 hours. It will not alter stgp settings.
As other have suggested, I run this in an admin schedule.
Reclaim stgp 'tapepoolname' th=70 du=300

You can set up an admin schedule, or a bat file to run on Mondays that
issues the following command:
"update schedule domain-name schedule-name Dayofweek=weekday"
Then on Thursday, run
"update schedule domain-name schedule-name Dayofweek=thu"

I suspect that some sort of timeout is involved. Storage pool backups
use a lot of CPU, and a lot of db reads to generate a list of files that
need to be backed up. I suspect that it may take some time to ditch that
queued list of files before you can start another stg backup session

I've got something strange going on here. If I run a backup
storage pool command from my primary pool to one of my offsite copy pool
everything is fine. It will finish whenever it is done. Same when I do a
backup to my onsite copy pool. As long as let them finish everything is
ok.
Why not zLinux 5.5.1?

We will be moving to the zlinux platform soon. At that time, I will upgrade us
to v5.4.3. I'll no what to look for then.
Thanks all for the pointer.

Aside from needing to upgrade your TSM server to a supported level, your
only choice is four separate schedules, one for each day.

Looked at admin reference, and help define schedule.
V5.2.10 must not support enhanced client schedules. No sign of enhanced
anywhere.

I would like to schedule backups of some of our desktops for Monday through
thursdays.
Dayofweek=weekday will include fridays, and by the time our backup window
starts, most people have left for the weekend and shut down their machines.
Clients are mostly windows, ranging from 5.2 to 5.5. Server
Have you tried 'help define schedule'?
tsm: >def sched notes-tdp test1 dayofweek=m,tu,w,th SCHEDStyle=Enhanced
ANR2500I Schedule TEST1 defined in policy domain NOTES-TDP.
tsm: >q sched notes-tdp test1 f=d
Policy Domain Name: NOTES-TDP
Schedule Name: TEST1
Take a look at the Administrator's Reference at the enhanced client
schedule setup, or
HELP DEFINE SCHEDULE
at the command-line.

Martin, I did exactly what you're planning (only I also moved to new
hardware).
Here's the very high level order:
1. upgrade the clients to a 5.3 level as its kind of middle ground. It
will work with both 5.2 and 5.5 real well.
2. upgrade the server to 5.5 (doing the upgradedb command).
3. upg
Hi All,
I'm planning to ugrade my TSM to version 5.5. Currently, I'm using TSM
Server & Client ver 5.2 and TDP for SAP version 3.3.2. My question is,
what version of TDP that is run well with TSM 5.5 and what is the best
practice to do this upgrade? Can I just upgrade it from the current
version
