2009-02-18 Thread Mehdi Salehi
Hi, I have two questions about TDPO for AIX. Question 1: We must use sbt_tape in RMAN. Is Tivoli Data Protection for Oracle limited to send the RMAN backup data to tape or disk storage pools are possible? Question 2: How is it licensed? Is register lic file=oracle.lic number=X enough in TSM

TSM Scheduler service stops by itself

I am having a problem with the TSM Scheduler of a windows server. It stops sometimes by itself in the middle of a backup of files. The weird thing is that in the same server I have a scheduled TDP SQL backup, but the scheduler service works without problem.

There is a .LIC file that gets installed as part of the paid-for TDP installation package. It's in the TDP install directory. You don't get this .LIC file as part of the maintenance packages you download on the FTP.SOFTWARE.IBM.COM. You need to get the base-level as part of your Passport Agreement

Tim, you need to add the following to the top of your dsm.sys SErvername TSMSERVERA Then the commethod, tcpport etc. will be part of that SERVERNAME stanza. This allows you to define several different configurations in a single dsm.sys and refer to each by sourcing a different dsm.opt.
