Sounds like you have a faulty administrative schedule which needs some work. Find the one issuing those commands and look it over. If no schedule, look for administrative sessions during that time, where the commands could have been issued from an OS environment script or batch file.

Have a question about how TSM can backup open files on Netware boxes. We did some searching around and the only thing we can find is using the DYNAMIC setting on the copy group to get a fuzzy backup. Does anyone know of any other way or perhaps an add on product that works with TSM to backup

TSM Server 5.4.4.0 running on AIX 5.3 with 2 bonded gig ethernet. About 15% of my WIndows servers take over 5 hours to backup SYSTEM STATE. The rest all backup in 2 - 50 minutes. How do I diagnosis what's wrong with the slow ones. Picking one as a starting point. It is running WIndows Server

Sorry, you're right, 5.4 not mentioned in the docs. Start with the vssadmin list writers command. I've also seen this happen when the SQL client was installed, and SQL not at the appropriate SP4 level. (go figure). Very hard to tell which of the zillion VSS issues may be affecting you. On

Look at your other processes... McAfee has an ~on access scan~ and I've seen windows servers have their backup times more than double because the anti-virus software is scanning every file being backed up when it is opened by TSM. Also ck what is running on your TSM server... expiration can put

What methods are available to have a UNIX BA client trigger the shutdown of a Windows server and start it back up again after finishing the backup. The windows server is running software the relies on an Oracle database and it does not handle the cold backup of the oracle database. The UNIX BA
