The command line with, dsmc restore -pick -ina should do that.

Try -inactive. If you want to be able to select the files without
re-running dsmc, you can also use -pick.

The upgrade is on the books. Was this fixed in 5.5? Did you reset your
storage pool volumes all at once like a script? or one at a time? Thanks for
your response!

Friends of TSM,
I run scripts to compare the number of files and G in my primary pools and copy

'no data to copy'. The work around on this is to go through the primary pool

What is the size range of the files going to the tape?
Is it possible that already compressed files are expanding during an effort to

Gretchen, you might also try the server option reportretrieve yes (default is

information. Of course it requires a TSM server restart.

Thanks, Joerg, for reminding me that the accounting records
contain this info! I was hoping that there was, in addition,
something that I could spot check (using 'q act', for example)
a bit more easily (accounting is currently turned off - too
much data).

JR,
Another method of determining if lan-free is working is to perform a
"query mount" on the lan-free client. You can do this from the TSM
server console using server to server communications to the client:
"storageagentname: q mount"

Gretchen, I don't know about the first part, but as to information about recall
activity, use the accounting records (set accounting on) - fields 26-29 relate
to migration and recall activity.

We've been using GPFS-directed HSM for a while now,
working quite well (with a few bugs, but they're
being worked on).
The 'problem' I'm seeing is the mounting of HSM
media (tapes, in particular) during the running of
an incremental backup. Since we have the requirement

Hi,
Does anyone here use DPA?
Trying to get to grips with it but it's not obvious.. I'd like to query
the libvolumes table to determine scratch levels (just to begin with)
but I can't see how to do it.
Any help greatly appreciated.

Both responses aren't taking into consideration what TSM (ADSM) server

Back in the "old days", you had to do a "REGISTER LICENSE FILE=(insert

Hello,
our 3583 Library has a lot of problems (but with the robot not with the
drives!). We also have an old (but working) 4560SLX library with LTO1
drives. Is it possible to remove the LTO2 drives from the 3583 and put them
into the 4560SLX? Is that possible?
Kind regards,
Stephan
