I believe the only way to accomplish this would be to set up a separate
small TSM server just for this testing, and have the server travel in
time along with the client. Once the time traveler gets to the point
farthest in the future that it's going to go to, leave the test TSM
server there. You ca

We've been running 6.1.3.1 for a couple of weeks and haven't experienced
any migration hangs. Then again, we never saw them on 6.1.2.1 either.
We're migrating
I know this is uncommon, but I prefer, even with LTO, to have one logical
library per device type (LTO generation). Unfortunately, TSM doesn't understand
many of the great features that ACSLS provides, including scratch pools. But

Hello Again,
I have a client with a requirement to perform testing at different times
into the future. They wish to set the clocks, backup, do some testing,
backup, set the clock again, and so on.
They wish to be able to roll forward and *backward* to any time that they
have tested at.

Hello List
I'm using ACSLS libraries for the first time, in a couple of sites with
multiple TSM servers, multiple libraries. Some libraries are shared with
TSM library sharing, and some are not. We are having issues because we
can't use scratch tapes and must explicitly assign volumes to storage p
Mario,
The "x" just means that you cannot selectively "choose" a
single database for backup. Backup can only be done at the Storage Group
level.
Even if there is only one database in the storage group, you need to
choose the entire storage group so the transaction logs for that
storage group ar

The "apars fixed in this release" doc for 6.1.2.1 and also 6.1.3 says there
is a fix for IC62884 (migration hang).
I'm at 6.1.2.1, and still see the symptoms documented in the APAR.
Can anybody tell me whether this really IS fixed in 6.1.3?
If yes I'll go there, but I'd rather not if there's no fi
Hi Gary,
In theory, yes, the client is supposed to clean up the older entries. There
have been a few defects in this area (most recently IC63625) that can cause
the older entries to not be cleaned up. Current client versions should, at
the start of the next system state backup, clean out the entri
Mario,
About CCR vs. SCR vs. SCC. Ask your Exchange Admin. They will know. :-)
Microsoft does not support "legacy" backups from a CCR passive
or SCR replicas. In order to perform a VSS backup from the
passive node of a CCR cluster, you must either have TSM for Copy Services
or FlashCopy Manager
Hi list,
How do I know if the Exchange 2007 running on a MSCS 2 node configuration is
configured as SCR or CCR?
The TDP for Exchange is connecting to the Exchange Information Store and I can

Mario,
It could be a permissions issues. You may be running this under
an ID that does not have the required access to the
necessary Active Directory objects.
Try logging into the system under an ID with higher authority.
If it does not resolve the situation, I suggest placing a call

Mario,
Are you running with Exchange SCC or CCR clustering?
Does this command work?
TDPEXCC QUERY EXCHANGE /EXCSERVER=exc-virt-server-name
where "exc-virt-server-name" is the Exchange virtual server name
if you are running with Exchange Server 2007 SCC clustering.

Hi list,
I have the following environment:

running Windows 2003 R2
* TSM TDP for Exchange 6.1.1.0 also installed on both nodes running

Hi Wanda,
No, the drive location for adsm.sys is based on the drive where the Windows
system32 directory (e.g., C:\Windows\system32) is located.
