What sort of tape drives/library is it? It isn't some sort of de-dup'ed

Hi there
To begin with, TSM as a product has no issues with fast restores. If the data
isnt placed correctly, restores might slow up though.
- Did you restore files or files and directories?
- Are you storing directories on tape or in a dedicated diskpool using DIRMC?
- Considering it was only

Directories are on a dirmc diskpool. Actually I only restored few directories,
and the files
were all in the last sub-directory.
On this particular server that is big the data isn't collocated.
We collocated by group and this server isn't in any group.
There were only 3 tapes involved, and
There is a ~30minute delay between the start of the restore and the first
mount, did you have drives free for this restore?

What are the default ports for the webport option?
Tcpclientport is 1501.
I am running into problems on win 2008, and need to know what are the defaults
so as to open up the firewall.
Thanks for the help.

Hi
The defaults is webport 0 0 - random ports, so use webport 1552 1553
and if you use CAD open only 1552 port from server to client and 1500
(default) from client to server.

Metroclusters, nothing more than two netapps... nothing special if you want to
do NDMP, just zone your tape drives to both nodes in the cluster.

The port is random unless you define it. You need to allow the program to
listen, once it is allowed to listen it will tell the TSM server what port to
use.
Try this on 2008 and 2008 R2: (use at your own risk, but it is what I use)
netsh advfirewall firewall add rule name=IBM Tivoli Storage

got all the pre-reqs down for a restore, but here's the thing: I can restore a
mailbox in my AD OU, but not in a child domain. TDP restores

My issue/question is should I go with 6.1.4.1 or 6.2.1.1?
Part of the reason for asking this is due to my bad experience with trying
to upgrade a test server from 6.1.3.4 to 6.2.1 - total
