Forgot to comment, I've never worked with the webports, don't know anything
about that component of TSM.
Again, hope it runs on the next schedule.

Good luck.
I had noticed in one of our problems that manually entering the TCPCLIENTPORT
was apparently required.
Although the default is 1501, we couldn't get schedule to fire until we
manually set it.
What client version are you running? Our trouble was on a recent version as I
recall, 6.2

Does anybody have any comparisons on running TSM V6.3 on the AIX
platform versus Windows 2008 ? We have been running on AIX for
approximately 15 years and our company would like us to convert to
windows. Trying to give them a comparison in terms of hardware needed,
disaster recovery times, etc...
On Windows, the real details of the client configuration is comprised of:
1) The information in dsm.opt
2) The information stored in the services config and returned by 'dsmcutil
list' and 'dsmcutil query /name:"service name"'.
3) Other registry stuff.
4) Unknown magic windows security stuff.
5)
Anyone installed/upgraded to 6.3 on AIX yet? Just wondering if similar
issues exist there.
See Ya'

We buy slightly used Power equipment for TSM, and are extremely happy
with the cost comparisons and the performance. You can get a lot of work
done with a used, higher-end P6.
When TSM gets down to some of its serious computation tasks such as
expiration, delete filespace, reclamation, and dedupli
Thanks for the link. I un-installed the 6.2 API and installed the 6.3 version
and was able to start TSM.
I don't have that warm fuzzy feeling about 6.3 so I'm going back to 6.2.3.

The listening port number is your choice; 1501 is the default for the TSM
client.
Look at your DSM.OPT file, it should have a line similar to: TCPCLIENTPORT 1501.
Then, stop/start the schedule service in Windows services to get it to read the
option.
The netstat -a -n should then display the 1
Does the "q db f=d" look different now verses before? You should see more free

it needs to.

I ran into this issue with 6.2.2 and ultimately, after talking with
IBM, I had to do a dump/restore to have it start using the space. I
would get ahold of IBM and see if they have figured out a different
way to do this.

Hi Johnny,
When you install TSM 6.3, it will install the TSM API 6.2.2 by
default and your server will work as desired.
