We're having serious performance problems with our TSM database. Part of the
discussion with IBM is how expiration should perform.
A technical document on the TSM website stated
IBM has a technote on this problem. Its reference ID is 1167202.

current MVS TSM environment
, and Netware with some TDP for Oracle. Our database is
15GB with 72% used and we backup approx. 400GB a night. This server can
easily accommodate more servers once we add more disk.

I tested a restore and it seems to work fine. The only problem is the
TSM server shows the backup as failed.
The TSM server is AIX 5.2ML1 running TSM version 5.2.1.1

I had the same problem after I installed JVM 1.4.1. I believe you have to run JVM
1.3.1.

I tried installing the new TSM client but libstdc++ causes the client to fail since
RH8 has a completely different version. I force installed libstdc++2.96-110.i386.rpm
and it started to work.

I have been having a look at using your select statement below and with
slight modifications I am getting the number of tapes that are needed for
each

$2 with the storage pool or add the script to the server and type "run name_of_script
nodename storagepool". You can type the names either upper or lower case.
