Thanks for the reply Wanda. We don't use option sets, but I checked to make
sure, it is blank.
No apparent
I had already done all of these troubleshooting steps (as well as some others),

TSM 5.5.1.0 Windows client backing up to TSM running on z\OS.
The TSM client software is running on Windows Server 2007 SP2 64 bit.
A couple of days ago, the motherboard on the Windows client was replaced. Since
then, scheduled TSM backups will not execute. That was the only change I am
aware
I have a number of questions about the way in which TSM running under z/Linux
interfaces with tape.
How are your tape drives defined? Through z/VM or directly to z/Linux?
Is obtaining drivers for the more popular tape drives difficult?
Does TSM do all of the tape management, or do you use some
Tim,
We are at 5.5.4.2, and upgraded from 5.4 to 5.5 to where we are now. I haven't
seen any increase in the backup and migration times as we have made those moves.

Nicklas,
Not sure which TSM version you are using but we are at 5.5.4.2, and we use the
following parm to set the time:
XX PARM='POSIX(ON) ENVAR(TZ=EST+5)/',
We are located in the Eastern Time Zone of the U.S., so we set the parameter to
+4 for DST and +5 for Standard time.
I have a user running TSM 5.4 on a single Windows XP server. This user
experienced a server crash but after a week of trying was unable to get
TSM running again with the existing database. Error messages indicated
that the database experienced corruption, and after getting those errors
TSM would
Running TSM 5.5 on z/OS.
Run nightly backups to disk storage pools, then migrate those to tape
the next day.
Last night, one of our disk storage pools filled up due to a mass dump
of data on one of the clients being backed up to that pool
The high and low migration limits on this pool were
still only see a single migration process if you have data from

one node within the storage pool.

Yes, zLinux rings a bell. However, if you don't already have tape and/or
disk infrastructure in place for it, or if you don't have sufficient
excess capacity in what you do have, you will have to purchase them, as
there is no good way to share these resources between z/OS and z/Linux.
And yes,
DB2 is included when you procure TSM 6.1

do I need to buy DB2
While TSM V6 does not run on z/OS on zSeries, it certainly still does on
Linux IFLs on zSeries. Let's not give IBM any more incentive to kill TSM
on big iron!

Do you have the statement:

This should allow you to see the mount points. Note that you will need

This has been my experience with the 5.5 client. I did not see it on

I've encountered this issue in the past, and the document below has
