Farren,
I've seen this happen before when the TSM DB tapes get out of sync with
DRM. Basically, what we do, is once a quarter we perform an audit. We get
a list from the offsite vendor and compare it to the output from q drm.
Any tapes that are on the offsite vendor's list and not on the q drm l
Andrew,
You can use the maxpr=number option with the backup stgpool command.
i.e.: backup stgpool primarypool copypool maxpr=2 <---If you are backing up
a tape pool, this will use 4 tape drives...if its a disk pool, it will use
only 2 tape drives.

Geoff,
Was the server name changed by mistake on the TSM server side? We did this
once before when we migrated a TSM server to another server and we found
out the hard way that on the Windows side, not sure on AIX, the password is
stored in the registry based on the TSM server name and all our Win
Bruno,
I did this same thing about 6 months ago. The only difference was we are on
AIX. We just hooked both libraries to the TSM server, created a new
devclass, library, tape storage pool, etc, for the new 3583 library and
than ran move data on all the old LTO1 tapes. Pretty straight forwar
Marc,
I noticed you had 1581 in your note. Did you try opening 1501? Wasn't
sure if 1581 was a typo or not. Also, make sure the ports are
bi-directional.

Silvio,
That command should work as long as you put a / in front

to add the "*" at the end.
Example:
dsmc archive -subdir=yes "/oracle/dev/*" "/oracle/tst/*"

Have you checked the file system that the dsmsched.log file is in to make
sure it has not filled up? I had this happen to me once before. The
dsmsched.log got so big, the file system filled up and could not write to
the file any longer.

Mahesh,
One way you could disable an archive for a particular node, temporarily, is
to remove the node from the archive schedule:
del assoc
And when you want to put it back, all you would need to do is add the node
back in:
def assoc

Shawn,
You can use the following command to put the tapes in the I/O Door:
mtlib -l/dev/lmcp0 -CV -tff10
FF10 is the category of a tape that is located in the I/O door on a 3494.

James,
In the environment that I am in, one way RMAN backups are monitored is by
scripts that the DBAs create to let them, and myself, know when backups
fail. A page is sent to us, as well as an email. Hope this helps.
