Currently we have a 1.5Tb (70 volumes) SAP client backing up (directly) to
tape.
We would like to use TDP for ESS i.e. flashcopy for such (large) clients.
If I understand correctly flashcopy (with COPY option) works as follows:
* flashcopy initiation (establishing pairs) for 70 volumes

in the process of moving backup volumes offsite volume U11108 was
successfully moved to VAULT
09/27/01 10:24:22 ANR6683I MOVE DRMEDIA: Volume U11108 was moved from
NOTMOUNTABLE state to VAULT.
however the reclamation process also selected this tape !?

I am having some problems with installing SAN Storage Agent on WinNT Client
using the "TSM Managed Systems for SAN" cdrom .
TSM4.2 server runs on AIX 4.3
On this WinNT I have TSM 4.2 B/A Client software installed.
For testing purposes trying to configure the WinNT Client in such a way that
LA
ool attributes (delay period for volume reuse)
these two reasons COULD explain why the tape wasn't returned.
hope this helps..

We have TSM4.2 on AIX 4.3 and 3584 LTO library.
09/10/01UYA005, Mountable, 09/10/01, 06:04:50,
LIB_3584_1
on the 10th this volume UYA005 was moved to offsite vault using :
move drm * wherestate=mountable remove=untileefull
move drm * wherestate=notmountable tostate=vaul
Yes, we have, by using REXX and SMTP.
Via OPC we have scheduled job BLC1DXMB and BLC1DXME (which is dependent on
BLC1DXMB):
//BLC1DXMB JOB (WY0130ASHK3O,7),'UICM/15',
// CLASS=0,GROUP=,USER=,MSGCLASS=P
/*JOBPARM SYSAFF=E9
//*
//STEP0030 EXEC PGM=IKJEFT01

Hi
* is there any reason for using (or not using) the COURIER state
we want to use the following procedures:
a) "q drm * wherest=mountable" (to get a report)
b) "move drm * wherest=mountable tostate=notmountable"
c) "move drm * wherest=notmountable tostate=vault"
* we have a IB
yes
working just fine together with drm.

how can you tell when files are part of an aggregate ?
it seems that files , part of an aggregate, are not backed up (not to the
storage pool and not to the 'nextstgpool') when
size of this aggregate is larger than maxfilesize parameter !
is there a workaround other than setting maxfilesi
