True. But I consider 12 I/O slots a waste for only 54 data slots. If you are
taking that many tapes out at a time, I would consider the library
undersized...

The 3583 is an OEM'd ADIC Scalar 100 and ADIC says it can have 4 columns for
a total of 72 slots (for LTO).
