Hi,
I was given the info that LTO1 drives are upgradable for ADIC1000 libraries.
The thing is that the drive itself( internally) gets swaped and the base (power
supply, internal electronics, etc) stays the same.
The cost for this would be 1/3 of a new drive.
The statement came from an ADIC sales rep.

But, the LTO2 drives can read media that was written by LTO1.

Can anyone who has experience with these drives please help with a
question?
For those of us that use 3590 drives we know they are upgradeable from E to
H. Are LTO1 drives upgradeable to LTO2 or are they a completely different
animal?
