If you go to the TSM web site: http://www.tivoli.com/products/index/storage_mgr/
Click the "fixes and client code" link. That takes you to a page where you can select your client/server platform, and get a list of available server and client "fix" levels. These are the fix levels that are considered "production", meaning they have been through Tivoli's final testing. When you click the link to download the version you want, it takes you to the TSM maintenance FTP site: ftp://service.boulder.ibm.com/storage/tivoli-storage-management/maintenance/ There is another spot on the site where you can get "patches": ftp://service.boulder.ibm.com/storage/tivoli-storage-management/patches/ The "patches" are later than the "production" fix levels. They generally have been created in response to a particular problem, and have NOT been tested as thoroughly as the "production" versions. In general, stick with the "production" fixes unless you are having a problem. If you are having a problem, look in the README files for the patches to see what has been addressed by the patch. I believe in all cases the "patches" are still complete replacements for clients. For the server patches, you have to read more carefully and see if there are prior fixes that have to go as well. BTW, instead of remembering how to get to the "patches" site, you can: - Open your browser - Start at the TSM home page - Click the "FIXES AND CLIENT CODE" link - Select your client version and click the download link to get to the maintenance site - Click the UP icon on your browser's menu; this will take you up a level in the FTP server directory. - Keep clicking UP until you reach the level you can see the patches directory ************************************************************************ Wanda Prather The Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Lab 443-778-8769 [EMAIL PROTECTED] "Intelligence has much less practical application than you'd think" - Scott Adams/Dilbert ************************************************************************ -----Original Message----- From: Burak Demircan [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Wednesday, March 06, 2002 3:13 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: TSM 4.2.1.14 on AIX 4.3.3 Where do you download just versions like 4.2.1.14?
