GPFS FAQs indicates that virtual SCSI is supported. Can I mix physical and
virtual AIX systems in a cluster for LAN-free backup? (talking about
feasibility, not performance).
Thank you,
Mehdi
for the NPIV zoning.

With VIOS v2, VIO servers can virtualize HBAs. So it is possible to run
LAN-free via a virtualized HBA. I haven't done it yet, so can't speak
to performance.

VIO servers can't route tape
blem is you
don't get the ,more optimal performance, for not production environment it is
cheaper.

VIO servers can't route tape, so, you're stuck at GPFS or SANergry. You

Hi,
A Linux/AIX logical partition on IBM POWER systems has only virtual SCSI
adapters. Can this partition use TSM LAN-free backup in any way? (tape,
GPFS, SANergy,...)
How about if the client uses NPIV? If yes, is NPIV virtualization completely
transparent to TSM/SAN equipments?
