Hi!
I am running AIX 4.3.2 with Tivoli 3.7.
When I run the Tivoli backup, the client
machine is very slow, no one can do
any work. People can't even login.
Can any one shed some light?
Thanks.

Check your setting for RESOURCEUTILIZATION in the option file of the client.
Perhaps you have overridden the default setting causing a more aggressive use
client resource (threads/sessions) than you desire.

You ca define seaprate network for backup, so that the back up wont chokeup
the bandwidth.
what cards you are using in TSM box?
Let's say I install a second card,
how can I tell tivoli client to run
that specific card?
Thanks.

I think you have to specify IP address in dsm.sys and dsm.opt file. and
forward backup pacets to that network.
By specifying the "TCPClientaddress" parameter in your dsm.opt file which
in turn points to your newly installed NW card's IP address.
