We started with VM/CMS, DOS 3.1, OS/2, and AIX/RT. Remember those?
Now TSM is doing things like VMware and Hyper-V and Cloud.

Hi,
It's clear that I'm not alone with my issues.
I wonder how TSM will be able to survive in a backup world where other vendors
are delivering high-end technology that works.
Yes, TSM can do VMware backup, dedup, data synchronisation, monitoring,
scalability, ...
Looking at the feature list and
Hello,
IT02929 is a seriuos defect in TSM and i cannot believe that it will not
be fixed immetiately.
First there was IBM common store which prevented my customers to go to TSM
7 ( CM had no TSM 7 support until some weeks ago),
now it is something else and sure there will be something yet
Rick Rhodes asked the following question:
Now that we are completely on V6.2.5, we have to upgrade quickly due to
ending support in April. Our debate is going to v6.3.x or jumping to
7.1.x. I'd be interested in any recommendations for this.

AC and OC and 7.1.1 Was: RE: [ADSM-L] TSM rant
Hi Jeanne,
We are in a transition as the OC is getting more function with each release,
but doesn't yet have everything the AC had.
The OC is the new/current admin GUI. The 7.1.1 version has client scheduling
in it now, so it can do more

Hi,
I don't get it.
Back in the good oldays of TSM 5, you could have a normal server (basic CPU, 8
GB RAM, normal disks) and run TSM without any problem.
The command line interface was nice, the web based GUI was basic, but you
could do everything with it.
You needed some extra scripts of

Yeah,
I'm using TSM since ADSM v.2,
now I've got two v5 and one v7. I'm thinking about migration/downgrade
to old v5.
Fast, reliable, easy to install/upgrade, light. Without ISC just a dream.

Hi
TSM between v6.1 and the end of v6.2 was really rough, mostly related to
DB2. By v6.3 it got a lot more stable. I'm glad we upgraded from v5 early,
though, since we really benefit from DB2's improved indexing and table
compression - between two TSM instances we have close to 2 billion file
