We now have a request to back up a server running some library app that uses
mysql for its databases.
The only guidance I have seen so far searching the internet is to use adsmpipe.
Are any of you doing mysql backups, if so how?

mysqldump, then back up the resulting file via TSM Incremental.
I ran into the same issue. It seemed like the only way to do it was
to dump to a file then backup using dsmc. This was fine, except that
we had a client with a 2 TB MYSQL DB. (No comments necessary). I
used the adsmpipe command to back this up to TSM with great success.

I've used adsmpipe for both postgresql and mysql with great success. Google for
the redpaper redp-3980-00 for supporting scripts.

precompiled versions. Are there precompiled versions (windows, aix)
anywhere for downloading?
