Although this does cover you in case of a disk failure, it doesn't save
you in case if a bigger disaster where you loose the both servers. And
therefore only doing this is not a good idea. At least run the db backup
to tape on the days you send your other tapes offsite and send those
backups with

Are you doing OS level backups (sysback/mksysb on AIX, similar tool on
other OS platforms) of your TSM Server for DR? If you are, you can "cheat"
one of two ways:
1. Do your TSM DBBackup to disk, then include that file in the OS level
backup.

to keep db backups offsite so you can recover your db in case of a
disaster. If so, you want to start each db backup on a new tape so that
it can go offsite.

Basically, the system works.
