I'm trying to retrieve campaign information using a api call. I'm getting
null start dates of all the campaigns in my test account - 484-896-0371,
even though I can see the start dates in the adwords gui.

Are you making the request against Test or Production account? The
developer token is not approved yet, so you can only access Test accounts
so far.

yes we are pulling adExtensions One campaign @ a time. limiting it to one
campaign does not help.

Did you enter billing details in your API MCC account (CID: 11 in this
example)? That is required to accept the AdWords API T&C so you can start
making calls your test account.
